What are Microlocs? 

Microlocs are started as micro two strand twists with a grid pattern of 200-450 locs. They are maintained every 6-8 weeks by using the interlocking method. Book your FREE consult with us to determine if you are a candidate!

  • Quick Tips On how to maintain and care for your new style:
  • Always sleep with a Satin bonnet or scarf (if your scarf slips off at night, invest in a Satin Pillowcase)
  • Always shower with a Plastic Shower cap
  • Use recommended oils for your edges and nape everyday for the first 5 days of your style (For damaged and thinning spots apply Rockafro Growth Oil)​
  • Pre-treat synthetic hair before use. Simply soak hair in water, apple cider vinegar and mild antibacterial liquid dish detergent and rinse. You will remove unwanted residue, dirt & debris
FYI...
  • You Don't need to straighten your hair to get it trimmed. Your hair can be trimmed in it's natural state and for best results when it is wet.  You will avoid having blunt ends and retain more length.
  • There is no such thing as a chemical free or all natural straightener. Don't be fooled! Read the labels on the products correctly, you probably won't find the words chemical free.  Just because a product uses natural ingredients does not make it chemical free. Any product that alters or straightens your natural curl pattern is a chemical.

Q: How frequently should I have my locs professionally serviced?
Every 5-8 weeks, in some cases four, depending on the loc stage and texture of hair. Keeping the hair covered with a snug fitting satin/silk cap or scarf while sleeping, working out and sweating can help the hair to lay down. Additionally, styling the hair with updos, braids and twist can extend the style while simultaneously cutting down on “the fuzzies”.

FAQ's:
Q: How can I restore curl to heat damaged ends?
Unfortunately heat damage is irreversible.  There is no way for it to be permanently restored...it sucks, but its true. You have two options:
1. Chop the damage ends all at once
2. Chop a little bit over time---so that its not a drastic loss of length. During this time you can wear bantu knot outs, crochet styles, flexi rod sets, and twist-n-curls to help the ends along.
Q: With all the Youtube DIY videos I can do my own hair, why pay and go to a professional stylist?
Glad you asked! I could probably go on YouTube and figure out how to perform an oil change on my car, and after the time, energy and money I would have spent (not to mention I probably would have done it incorrectly), I would have to ask myself was it worth it?
